I saw a blog stating that she's already been spotted in DC today.

I think it's a great choice. Met her a number of times, and she is one bright lady. She will sail through confirmation, and be a great voice for the dispossesed for the next quarter century.

If she was seen in DC, that is because everybody who is being vetted is probably going to undergo interviews. We will have to wait and see. I think she would be a good choice, though.

Shes a politician. She's likely to have an even tougher time. Also didn't she tax issues not too long ago?

She would be a good pick. But I doubt she will have an easy confirmation. And just because she is probably coming to talk to Obama about, doesn't mean anything. As far as we know others could be coming in tomorrow as well

Sure, he went to a lot of trouble and expense to get himself elected, but that's chicken-feed compared to a political appointment!

Bugs me how he keeps pulling Dems out of elected positions of power to bring them into the bureaucracy. He can't find a woman to appoint who ISN'T a governor or senator?

I have no problem with her... it just seems that Obama keeps nominating people for federal positions and removing them from hard-fought governorships/senate seats/etc. and throwing those seats back into play (like the Hillary debacle).

There's already 5 Catholics on the court. Not that Granholm is an Opus Dei dominionazi like Fat Tony or Clarence the Clown, but lets mix it up a little.

She wants the state supreme court or maybe to take over for Stabenow (or maybe that's just my fantasy) in the Senate. Sure, this is huge, and she's a good lawyer with a good grasp of the fundamentals, but I'm just thinking that it's not going to happen.

If it's not Granholm, it would probably be more likely for her to eventually replace Levin. I don't see Stabenow retiring and I don't think Granholm would challenge her in a primary.

It would be good to have Granholm run for the MI Supreme Court so the liberals could finally be in charge. Then may be we could have a chance at overturning that gay partner benefits ruling or maybe even the gay marriage ban.

I don't see Granholm running for the MI Supreme Court though. It won't matter because I think Obama will select her for the US Supreme Court.

Governor Granholm was my first boss in the legal profession - she was editor in chief of the Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Law Review and I was a staffer.
