The McCain campaign simply couldn't raise the cash needed due to the limited constraints governed by that law.

McCain-Feingold doesn't go nearly far enough but it showed us one thing.

THAT CAMPAIGN FINANCE LAWS EVEN IN A WEAK FORM LIKE M-F EMPOWER PROGRESS.

WE NEED STRONGER LAWS, MUCH STRONGER.

Its chief sponsors were Senators Russell Feingold (D-WI) and John McCain (R-AZ). The law became effective on 6 November 2002, and the new legal limits became effective on January 1, 2003.

As noted in McConnell v. Federal Election Commission, a United States Supreme Court ruling on the BCRA, the Act was designed to address two issues:

Hence, Single Payer Universal Health Care gets swept under the table.

Lack of campaign finance laws has stopped progress and prog policies dead in their tracks.
