Sen. Tom Harkin calls Cheney "Pathetic... full of fear"

Just now on The Ed Show. He makes Cheney irrelevant as a fearfilled pathetic old fool.

Harkin also made light of bringing the detainees to the US - talks about another terrorist housed in a facility near one of his homes and how that never changed his routine.

1. What's gotten into Tom Harkin lately?

He's been a lot more outspoken than I remember him--and he was one of the 6 in the 90-6 ruling against the plan to move Guantanamo detainees to US prisons. Add to that his about-face on gay marriage, and he's doing pretty good.

2. Is he up for re-election soon? He had a lot of good points in his Ed Show appearance

I wish more Democratic Congress critters made as much sense!

Ws watch. He pretends otherwise but he knows he failed big time.
I wish that fugging draft-dodging, money loving, war profiteering, scum bag neo-con war criminal would get back to his bunker and pull out the battery.

of a pathetic old man. Let's face it: people like Cheney go through life putting other people in harm's way.

6. Harkin lives here in Alexandria,

and we all knew that. Big deal. Moussaoui was in the Alexandria jail for nearly 4 years, or maybe it was 5. I can see the jail from one of the balconies here, and if anyone wanted to see a state-of-the-art high security structure, that's it.

No one cares. His trial took place here, too, in the big Federal Court building not far from me.

He talked about going for walks, getting his mail from the streetside mailbox, etc.

I like the idea of sending the detainees to Hardin, Montana. The town needs the jobs, they have the facility ready, and it's a long, long way to anywhere. And if they are going to send them there, it needs to be done soon so they don't go from Cuba to a Montana winter. Going from a Cuban summer to a Montana summer would be bad, but not as bad.
