The Bible bill?
When the clock strikes midnight on Dec. 31, 2009, Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) hopes you’ll be ringing in “the Year of the Bible.”

It’s probably just wishful thinking.

Broun’s simple congressional resolution aimed at honoring the Good Book has produced a push-back of biblical proportion in the blogosphere, with critics dismissing it as either unconstitutional or a waste of time. Jews in Congress and atheist activists are dismissing the resolution, while none of the many Democrats in Congress who are Christian have bothered to sign on as co-sponsors.

THIS is the most important thing they have to worry about right now? :wtf:

1. I'm down with that, as long as 2011 can be year of the wiccan, and 2012 year of the koran, and...
2013 can be year of the flying spaghetti monster.

2. No GOP legislation is getting passed right now
They can afford to introduce stupid shit. This is simply meant to rile up the fundie base and for Worldnetdaily to run articles describing how Christians are persecuted in this country and how democrats hate Jesus.

They want persecution I'll fly them to the Sudan and I'll show them what persecution looks like.

3. 2000 Years of the Bible have been plenty, thanks.
I'm thinking it's the year of How About Thinking For Yourself For a Change?

5. WHY do these nitwits keep trying to put their religion nto gov't?
A guest on Real Time last night made great quote.

"I don't care if my neighbor believes in one God, many Gods, or no God. It doesn't break my leg, nor pick my pocket."

I don't remember who he was quoting, but I thought it an excelent statement. If everyong actually believed that and lived that way, things would be much better!

7. What I don't understand is...
they only want smaller government when it comes to regulation of the financial industry, corporations, and taxes...yet have no problem with government being in our bedrooms, gynecologist's office, etc.?

6. That's one of those wing nut feel good pieces of shitty legislation to appeal to
the lunatic base.

Could the republicans be anymore out of touch with the voters right now?

That was rhetorical.
