On 60 Minutes ... research company "answer to healthcare"?
I'm watching the segment about the compound in red wine that's supposed to increase lifespan in humans.

Why the hell do people believe the quick fix is always the best solution?

Can someone create a pill called "single-payer"?

1. Damn. And I thought beer was the Water of Life.
Oh well, I guess I'll have to adopt the single-payer health system as a substitute.;)

2. If that compound works and is ever produced
Expect the government to tax it so that only the very wealthy could afford it.

5. Did you hear the end of the segment where Glaxo bought out the small
start up company with millions. They will now control the product. They will propagandize the gullible with their advertising all over the media. Even if I were interested in taking the pill as an old person, I don't think I would because of that. Of course I'm not that interested in getting really old anyway.

6. Yeah, I heard that part.
It reminded me of the last shot of Raiders of the Lost Ark ...
