I'm just wondering - why is it OK for Wal Mart to sell Cosmo, but not sell Green Day albums?

I had posted this in the Lounge, someone suggested I should bring this up here as well.

I realize Green Day has some naughty words in their lyrics, but Cosmo has some articles that are rather *cough* graphic -- in an instructive sort of way.

3. Not to mention, some Wal-Marts still sell guns and ammo.
In a word, fuck'em.

2. I am thinking they would rather look at teh babes rather than
Green Day and teh bad words.
I would check with Ceiling Cat on this.

4. are teenage boys and girls really reading Cosmo
the way they are listening to Green Day. As with helmets, it's all about protecting the kids, and Lord only knows WE can be very judgemental about people who don't protect their kids.

5. It must be a US thing.
You can get the unbowdlerized version at any Wal-Mart in Canada. In fact, you couldn't get the "clean" version here if you begged for it.

Same goes for the new Eminem, too.

7. I'd say because Green Day kind of sucks... but
I don't think Wal Mart has any taste. So I'll have to answer with a

8. Because Cosmo promotes consumption...and that's what Wal Mart is all about

9. Because Green Day is gawd-awful.
Perhaps the most overrated band in history.
