McCarthy turns her back on Democrats
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy announced her endorsement of a fellow gun control advocate, Republican Mayor Bloomberg, today, becoming the first member of the New York delegation to officially turn her back on the party's likely nominee, Comptroller Bill Thompson.

And she goes on...

McCarthy said the fact that he is no longer a Democrat doesn't bother her, noting she used to be a Republican herself.

No suprise here, she always pushes policies that cost Democrats dearly in most of the nation...

:eyes: I suppose you think she should just get over it, too.

On December 7, 1993, her husband, Dennis, was killed and her son, Kevin, severely injured, on a Long Island Rail Road commuter train at the Merillon Avenue station, when a mass murderer, Colin Ferguson, opened fire on random unarmed passengers.<4> Ferguson killed six and wounded 19 others.<5> McCarthy responded to the crime by launching a campaign for additional gun control measures that eventually propelled her to Congress in 1996 on the Democratic ticket.

...that cost Democrats dearly in most of the nation?

I grew up in the same place as she raised her family and I have met her on a number of occasions. My father was part of her first campaign team. a quick look at http://www.ontheissues.org/NY/Carolyn_McCarthy.htm shows a fairly liberal voting record.

8. Sorry, the perils of "on call work"....
She is roundly repeated around the nation, as one of the faces of gun control, frankly, she does not know which end of a rifle the bullet comes out of, but yet she feels herself some kind of "expert" in what we can own and possess...

This is proven by her "Things that go up"... Have you seen it? As I stump, here in Virginia, for voters, for Democratic Candidates, it is humiliating to have her name come up, over her stupidity, and willingness to get on TV and look like an idiot.. Her loved ones was gunned down by a man with a 9mm pistol, but she has yet to introduce ANY legislation to deal with 9mm pistols, She has tried to ban everything else insted... Mind Numbing....

Her, and Diane Feinstein, has cost us far more votes, in the rest of the nation, than just about any other politicians, they may be popular in their districts, but trust me, NO WAY would either one of them be elected garbage collector here...And I live in a state, with a Democratic Governor, two Democratic Senators, and we are represented by a Democratic Congressman...

Don't get me wrong, I do have compassion for what happened to her, but frankly, that does not make her a expert, far from it. I actully feel sorry for her, she is so poorly prepared when she is on TV...See for yourself...

12. Oh bullshit
Bloomberg is hardly a republican. He is a Democrat who ran republican to become mayor. Also, he has a "better" record than most Democrats on her pet issue.
