1. It Never Did...
When Blago named Burris almost everyone in this state smelled pay for play. We had Burris' word that he didn't, but few believed it. This is nothing new. Burris doesn't stand a chance in a primary next year and my hope is this revelation as well as Blago's upcoming trial will force him to consider his mausoleum done, as well as his Senate career, on Jan 3 (or whatever day) in 2011.

2. Am I the only person in the world who is asking the question
"Why the fuck weren't these tapes released before Burris was confirmed?"

In order to bring down a governor who was already up to his neck in hot water, the AG allowed an ethically compromised Senator to be seated in Congress?

Isn't that kind of like using a cannon to get the fly off the pastry?

3. The Democrats
are going to have to fight like hell to hold this seat in 2010 regardless of who the nominee is and it won't be Burris. It will be difficult to find a Democratic nominee who does not have a public photo of them with either Burris or Blago. I really don't feel very good about the political situation here.
