Frontline segment on Pakistan last night was the most informative I've seen re Taliban

and exactly what is going on in that region....the female Pakistani Journalist with a capital J risked her life to tell this story...she talked with children about their schools being bombed..and she talked with two best friends, teenage boys, one who will probably join the military and one who will probably join the taliban...neither hesitated to say that they would kill the other if necessary. although they have both suffered extreme tragedy..millions of displaced children are their targets for recruitment...

the taliban do not allow the girls to go to school while the boys are taught to memorize the koran as well as how to use weapons and how be a suicide bomber...the taliban person who recruits children( 4 , 5 and 6 years old ) rocked his body while speaking with her as they are taught to do while reciting the koran..she said he appeared to be in a trance...i cant stop thinking about the psychological brainwashing of children and the way it is achieved..for some the schools are the only place they receive food..this was a great and not to be missed piece of fabulous reporting...

3. i think that many pakistani are as shocked as us by the taliban

that was evident during the interviews of the girls and their father..they have found a way to brainwash thru religion and start with children who are hungry...the journalist who reported was raised in kaleshwar..i think she represents the pakistan that was versus the repressive fundamentalist terrorism of the taliban

9. I watched it with a Pakistani friend of mine, and he was shocked at the cult-like statements

from these mullahs who talk about sending children to suicide bomb. He doesn't recognize his own country anymore, in many respects. When that 14-year-old mullah-in-training started talking about the Koran says a woman's place is in the home, shouldn't be out doing things, he shouted at the TV, "That's TOTAL BULLSHIT!"

So don't anyone think that every Pakistani believes in this fundamentalist bullshit these Taliban are pushing as Islam.

But yes, it was an excellent, excellent program.

10. much like equating all of us with right wing evangelicals...i felt so sorry for the victims of this.

the father was saying how people are depressed and you could see it in their faces...yet they listen to the propaganda so they know the new edicts layed down by the taliban...very frightening

What a shock viewers in Ohio must have suffered. :sarcasm:

She did a great job of humanizing people who the Mainstream Media have labored at great lengths over the course of the last eight years or so to portray as Klingons or Satan's minions (and which stupid people have eaten up).

8. is Frontline back? They were Warren Commission dupes last I checked

I saw them do a show&tell experiment to prove that Kennedy was shot from behind only. They filled a skull with chalk and set it on a ladder. When the dust blew back toward the shooter - it was PROOF!
