4 million children's bracelets recalled
sorry if this is a dupe

Consumer Product Safety Commission says paint on 'Groovy Grabber' bracelets sold in vending machines poses risk of lead poisoning.
April 3 2007: 9:07 AM EDT

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- A&A Global Industries and the Consumer Product Safety Commission on Tuesday announced a recall of 4 million children's "Groovy Grabber" bracelets sold in vending machines because the paint on the products poses a lead poisoning risk.

The CPSC said the paint on the metallic band beneath the decorative cover contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

2. Again!?! I knew it even before I opened this that it would be because of Lead.
I hate to break out the Tin-foil hat, but the more I see these, the more I wonder if someone is doing this on purpose. :tinfoilhat:

4. I bet you all the material that was banned here
was dumped onto "developing" countries, just like the pesticides.

When you add in the child labor problems around the world - how many children could be affected...

6. kind of hard to "dump" lead
but I get your point.

lead is still used in all kinds of things, and still mined here in Missouri.

7. This crap has irritated me for a long time..when are we going to wake up?
There's more and more recalls about lead being in children's items and almost every time the crap is made in China. Top it off with the tainted wheat gluten..

:grr:
