Go effing where? "If you don't love it, leave it." And go where?

Right-wingers/conservatives/Republicans are fond of saying the above.

Trouble is, most countries I (and many progressives) would want to go to are very particular about whom they take. For instance, Canada, the UK, Scandinavian countries. I'm talking about moving to another country with the idea of eventually becoming a citizen of that country.

If you're a young, skilled worker and can get Canadian citizenship, good for you. But for many of us, that's not an option, due to age, not having a skill the other country needs, etc., that's not an option.

3. Oh screw them. We're not going anywhere.
Liberals are what made this country great. My family has been here since before the revolution, they fought in it and every war since then and were involved in every civil rights issue since then, on the side of justice. They worked hard to build this country and I'll be damned if I'm leaving it for the fascists to ruin. They hate America so much now that we have a liberal, black president, just ask them where they're going to move to.

6. I think your premise is false. Today that's a more appropriate thing to say to a right-winger.
But if a right-winger does say that to you, just answer that you do love it, you're not going anywhere, it's the right-wingers who are making all the noise now, and they are the ones who should consider leaving.

That's assuming, of course, that you have a mindset similar to most of us here on this forum.

7. Today this is what I have been saying to the
complainers about Obama, about California environmental laws, etc.
Love it or leave it. To the older ones, it is reminiscent of what they used to say to liberals, democrats, anti-war people 30 or 40 years ago.
So their slogan comes back to haunt them.
