3. This needs to be verified and then shouted from the rooftops.
Pelosi and her delegation, the Syrians, and the Iranians need to say...yes, due to the efforts of the American DIPLOMATIC delegation, the release of the British captives was effected.

6. Negotiate till the cows come home, then negotiate some more
What the world is rapidly understanding, bush can't play to his strength because he has no strength, no integrity, no leadership skills. He's a total and miserable failure. To prove my statement, just go to free republic and read about what that kind of citizen has to say about bush.

8. Bush* is a failed president and is now officially IRRELEVANT
The world knows it, most of the U.S. knows it, congress knows it. The only people who don't recognize it are the sycophants in the WH and the dauphin himself.

Ding dong the tyrant is as good as gone.

12. Clinton had a 65% approval rating when he was impeached.
He was admired and respected on the world stage.

His administration was largely successful and for the most part (with notable exceptions) pursued goals that were positive.

Bush has the largest DISapproval ratings almost in presidential history.
He is considered a joke on the world stage.
His administration is an utter and abject failure.
All of his policies are failures and were pursued mendaciously for negative ends.

Big difference.

13. When the Republicans (Newt) made those statements, Republicans had just
taken over fifty seats in Congress and Democrats were completely humiliated. Clinton did not have a positive approval rating at that time...Clinton came with his "Big government is over" speach... However you are correct in that the times are different and Bush* is most definitely a Lame Duck on the verge of being a Dead Duck...as far as getting any of his issues addressed.

21. Here's yer spin: Col. Jack Jacobs
courtesy: KoKo01 (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x574345)

Jacobs is saying the hostages should have stayed in Iran and not admitted anything and they should be hiding their heads in shame and that they didn't aquit themselves "honorably" and that they weren't trained and it's an "embarrassment for British Military" for them to have behaved by "giving up without a fight" (Jacobs said he he would have taken a shot rather than allow himself to be captured) and the MSNBC woman anchor interviewing him keeps interjecting about how embarrassing this has to be for Great Britian while Jacobs rants about how the soldiers should be ashamed of their behavior.

23. Never underestimate the power of a grandmother
I always thought Madeleine Albright's success in negotiations was due to her reminding everyone of their own grandmothers - and they didn't want get on her bad side. (Actually, I have no idea whether or not she has grandchildren - she just reminds me of my grandmother)

Then again, maybe having had to deal with two year olds is good training for dealing with politicians. Whatever the case, it's nice to see an adult back in charge.
