I always feel like my knuckles are about to be rapped, but here goes. A classic, and where Pete Townshend lost his hearing in one ear. I saw it live. I was so much older than that, I'm younger than that now.

Entwistle was AMAZING, and so underrated.

9. Paul wrote better, too, but Entwistle rates above Jack Bruce in my book, and that's
really, really fucking good.

That was a great showing of his technique, by the way......

8. The vid cut off too short
Wanted to see Pete go to town on the acoustic.

Heard somewhere that explosion contributed to Pete Townshend's hearing loss.

14. Yep, sorry. You're right. Pete took Tommy's guitar and destroyed it.
Sorry. You are so correct. Love them all, and saw the Smothers Brothers in February at the Kennedy Center, and if they don't get the Mark Twain award in 2010, something is screwy.

10. That was great!
I remember watching that when it first aired. The Smothers Brothers Show was some of my all-time favorite TV.

15. was it live or mimed?
Edited on Thu May-28-09 10:53 PM by gmoney
it's not quite the record version, and daltrey doesn't seem to be lip synching, but Keith is nowhere close to playing the drums, and Pete really is late on the breakdown at the end and stuff throughout. Weird...

16. K&R! Wow! What a find! Thanks for posting...
And they look so young, including Tommy Smothers, LOL. :woohoo:

I have a friend who wore a black armband when Keith Moon died... 1980? Yikes!x(

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!
