someone posted that surprisingly, Joe was criticizing Republicans for calling Sotomayor a racist. I watched today, and think that's all about him promoting his "I'm a DIFFERENT kind of Republican" book. I tuned in at the start of the show, and Joe passively agressively said that evidence DID suggest to him that she favored certain minority groups (he pointed out that out of context quote and the New Haven case), but that Republicans just shouldn't CALL her racist if they "want to win Colorado". How big of you, Joe. "They shouldn't call her a racist. But...." Barnicle then said that his "head was going to expode if someone didn't provide the full context of her quote from the racial conference", and went ahead and provided more context, but even that didn't provide her true argument. Barnicle and Mika agreed that the line of attack about her quote from the racial conference was silly, and Joe objected and stubbornly said that "80% of the public probably finds that quote objectionable." Where does he come up with these dumb statistics? It's better than Morning Torture though (I mean, having them talk about things other than torture), people are actually disagreeing with Joe a little and he's getting pissed off. Jon Harwood said that if judges shouldn't have empathy, then smart judges would agree on everything, and Carlos Watson said that it was desperate and weak for Republicans to go after Sotomayor for the New Haven case. Joe got pissed and started mumbling. And these people only disagree with Joe a little bit, and he clearly gets so thrown off, and just wants to say "ACTUALLY IT DOES!" He can't defend his own points, so now he is deferring to Krauthammer literally every other sentence. That's the ticket, Joe. And according to him, Krauthammer is the "true leader of the Republican party, according to Washington". Righhht. That's so much more helpful to them.
