from the American Family Assn's OneNewsNow, which, hold on a minute, is biased in favor of the Ohio Republican:

Ohio lawmaker trying to overrule DC marriage vote
Charlie Butts - OneNewsNow - 5/29/2009 7:00:00 AM

Earlier this month, the Council of the District of Columbia approved recognition of homosexual "marriages" legal in other jurisdictions, but Congress has final say over the city's laws. There's now a move under way to cancel that vote.

Legislation was introduced in the U.S. House last week to recognize only marriages between one man and one woman in the District of Columbia, which would negate the Council's vote. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) introduced the bill (H.R. 2608) and believes they can win -- but not without a major battle.

"I will tell you, the other side is energized based on what they've seen happen in states around the country and, frankly, by who is the leader of Congress and Speaker Pelosi and...our new president," Jordan shares. "So they're energized -- but so is our side."

At press time, 33 co-sponsors were listed for the measure. Jordan acknowledges it will be tough just to get the bill to the full House for a vote, but that does not discourage him.

"Let us play the game," he urges. "The speaker controls what comes up for votes and what doesn't -- but let's at least play the game, have the full debate, have the vote, and let the American people see where their respective members and where the entire Congress stands on this important issue."

The congressman says voters need that insight because President Obama has vowed to repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as one man and one woman. Jordan believes a vote on his bill should give an advance indication of whether members of Congress will turn against DOMA.

If Congress takes no action on the DC vote, it will become law automatically.

6. Now that they KNOW states can make other States laws
expect a lot more of this.

How will the good people of Ohio (Utah) sleep with all those gayz happy in Washington (California>)

and the slippery slope starts to erode.
