Okay .... think about THIS one ........
So ..... today ....... up in Toronto, we have Bill Clinton and Poppy's Idiot Son doing some political soft shoe.

Now think back. During the campaign. Bill Clinton, calling out Poppy's Idiot Son for his policies in the Middle East. Now, it could defensibly be said, he is legitimizing Poppy's Idiot Son simply by sharing a stage with him.

As Sparkly and I considered all this today, we both sorta arrived at the following question:

Bill Clinton was serious when he called out Poppy's Idiot Son during the campaign, and is, today, simply playing the game for money. Or. Bill Clinton was playing the game when he called out Poppy's Idiot Son and today they're both doing business as usual.

Which one is true? Or maybe they both are. Or maybe neither of them.

Quite some time ago, I had a post that went to over 200 noms on the top of the Greatest page. That post's title, still in my journal, was "It's all a Sham".

Today's Toronto Side Show, it seems to us, is proof of it.

13. Yup. That's it.
The old boys in politics, no matter what color, religion or party, stick together. They'll screw us 'little people' for some face time with a fraternity brother any day of the week. I am not impressed with the people attracted to power. Not at all.

you really think Bill's some kind of good ole boy? He's a corporate sellout and has more in common with the war criminals that are the Bushes than he has with anyone else.

15. Bingo ...........
He got out of the White House in debt, and realized he could make big bucks and run with the bad boys, and off he went. He's a whore, but, then, he was a whore while he was in the White House, so why is anyone surprised at anything Bubba does?

Thats how presidents (and politicians) make money. They appear and people they pleased give them the money the promised them. It looks legit, but its just payoffs for favors.

Edited on Fri May-29-09 11:02 PM by RandomThoughts
Edit: My comment makes an implication I do not mean to make, nor would it be my place to make. I only mean to say that the comment about their being an elite club, is not something I think on or think is the best way.

Its just my view, but when people think they are better or special it can lead to traps that make life harder for lots of people.

17. Some of those guys think they are playing one another, but, since they ARE playing one another,
nothing real happens for us, it's all about them and all we get is change delivered by meat-ax, such as Iraq and the demise of Hedge Funds.

If they care enough to learn, I think anyone can play a violin, fiddle, or other instrument.

20. Of course it is. Just look at how cheaply they've been able buy both teams,
and then think of the astronomical ROI, I can't think of another example that even comes close.

19. It still is and always has been a class war. It is all a sham, but we keep buying it.
It's Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown to kick it, it's the Coyote chasing the Road Runner, and it's the politician promising to bring change to Washington DC.

I don't have a problem with these appearances. If I had the money, I'd pay to listen them.

29. It's a game. Bill is smart but somehow I feel he thinks he'll never pay
for his actions. What has he done...

I wish for the end of politicians who think their s*** doesn't stink, they can all rot in prison while the rest of us put the country on a new track. May we see the end of politics as it has been in our lifetime.
