Do you think Barack Obama is on TV too much?
Is there such a thing as "familiarity breeds contempt"? After the last occupant of the White House, who was on TV almost every day, the present occupant is a welcome relief, to be quite frank. He has about a 7 year grace period.

Is he on TV just about the right time or do you think he should make himself a little less available to the public? With his reputation, he might be even more popular if the people saw him less? I'm sure it's just a matter of time before people start asking this question.

1. Just don't push it with the prime time speeches.... especially when he doesn't
have anything new to say.

2. I don't think that most people see him on television that often....
only those addicted to politics who watch cable news during the day. Everyone else only see and hear reports of whatever Obama has done that day. Today was Cyber Security, and I was very happy to hear about his new agenda on this.

So no, I don't think he is on too much. Part of his popularity is based on the fact that he works hard to keep the people informed on exactly what he's up to. I didn't watch Bush at all, so I didn't know he was on television every day. I also don't believe that Bush held many press conferences.

3. Look, he's not doing once-weekly "Alo Presidente" yet.
Not over-exposed at all.

4. Or selling an obscenely named cheap-o cellphone while he's at it!
Reach out, reach out and touch...your vergatario?

His isn't very big, now, is it?

Just when you thought you've seen everything!

6. After reading just the subject line, I was going to say no.
But, after reading your argument, I can understand where you're coming from.

With that in mind, I'm still going to say no, but with this caveat: right now there are too many facets in everyone's life that are in turmoil, having the president on as often as he is reassuring to the public. Also, it allows him to control his message and not cede the airwaves to the GOP, who are always ready with a new story to define him. This way he can counter their lies.

7. He's on as much as GWB was, except...
he does not make a total jackass of himself each time.

8. No, but my Mom has that complaint.....
and she only watches Fox News.

9. I find myself "missing" him if several days go by without an appearance.

10. I don't know. I only turn on my TV for about 6 hours a week, tops.
I only watch Simpsons and Family Guy and American Dad on Sunday nights or late night and occasionally watch something on PBS.

All my news is obtained through the Internets from a wide variety of sources.

TV isn't dead to me yet, but it's certainly coughing up blood.

11. I'll say no because
the MSM uses so many RW pundidiots that he seems to be one of the few ways to get coverage.

12. I'd really rather see more of Obama and less of Pat Buchanan or
Rush, and certainly less of Newt.

It still feels good to know that Bush is not the president any more.
