Thriller. I remember what a big deal it was when it first played on MTV. Especially cool with the Vincent Price voiceover.

Regardless of what he became, I can still remember with fondness the time and place when he was brilliant, and that brilliance was a contribution to the world at the time, part of the definition of an era. That's the element that makes me sad, that's what has been lost. As to his later life and troubles, I hope he's at peace now.
