Census Bureau: We’re Working With Bachmann To ‘Explain The Rules Of The Census’
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/06/27/census-bachmann-mpr/

clueless

In the past couple weeks, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has used her public appearances to fear-monger about the 2010 Census. In a radio interview with the Washington Times, Bachmann said that she and her family would ignore most of the survey’s questions and answer only “how many people are in our home. We won’t be answering any information beyond that, because the Constitution doesn’t require any information beyond that.”

In an interview with Fox News, Bachmann suggested that the Obama administration could use the Census data for nefarious purposes — including the imprisonment of Americans in concentration camps:

BACHMANN: If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the census bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations, at the request of President Roosevelt, and that’s how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps. I’m not saying that’s what the Administration is planning to do. But I am saying that private, personal information that was given to the census bureau in the 1940s was used against Americans to round them up.

Yesterday, Census Bureau spokesman Steve Buckner spoke to Minnesota Public Radio and said that many of Bachmann’s concerns were misguided. First, filling out the entire Census is required under federal law.

1. Now that would be a frustrating job assignment.
I'd rather resign than try to explain anything to that dim bulb.

2. I am amazed that a dipshit of this magnitude was elected i the first place.
Is there some kind of contaminant in the water in her district? Maybe it caused brain damage to the voters...

3. Easy solution -
just announce that everyone who does not properly fill out the census will be hauled off to a concentration camp.

Then step back and watch Bachman's head explode as she tries to figure out what to do next.

5. I filled out the census last time, and have been fighting to stay out of prison.

Damned Gubbamint.

So, there is some truth to what Bachmann says.

Even if it's just tangential to reality.

8. It's the law. What's to 'explain'?
She either follows the law or she breaks it and should be prosecuted, then resign.

Sounds simple enough to me.

10. She's a Republican
so they have to explain that the law does apply to her also. Elections have consequences, ya know?

9. The high school Bachmann attended should rescind her damn diploma
and if that stupid person attended a college, that institution should be thoroughly embarassed.

I understand that conservatives view ignorance as bliss - but this woman is way beyond the pale. She's like a cartoon character.

11. Isn't she a lawyer? Make that loony lawyer.
I was watching her facial expressions yesterday when Boehner was putting down the green bill. No doubt about it, she can be easily led.

Doesn't she have several children? I hope she didn't rub off on them.

12. Those census workers will TRACK you down
My family and I were displaced from our house during the last census taking--house fire. We had to stay in a hotel for 2 weeks.
My cell phone rings and it was a ***census worker***. They had been going thru my neighborhood and when they came to my house, the house repair guys gave them my cell phone number.
