It was a great peace march
I got back about an hour ago. These things always make me so happy and I realize what a beautiful country this really is. So unlike the official country we are told we are on T.V. and so different from what the government or the media would have you think. You see the socialists with their persistent percussion and the raging grannies singing and the dear old WWII vet in his wheel chair with his battered war-shot flag from a battle he fought in 1944. You see the young kids and the suburban grandmothers. You see babies in strollers and the code pink bandana dogs on leashes. You see all the union workers who come down from New York state from some great local and they all have purple hats so they can stick together. You see the imaginative floats, the energetic young people, the infirm older people. You see the solemn, the playful and the cynical.

You see the real America. I'm so proud of my country when I see this, the real America.

1. Where the hell were you?
We all gathered to march. Maybe you didn't get here in time?
We took some pictures:

3. I went with a local group in my county
the Prince William Peacemakers. I'll post a picture of our bus later. I've been protesting with this group for a few weeks we did a couple of local suburban VA protests. It was important to me to be with my group, I did look for the banner but I didn't see it. You know how stuff gets lost in groups like this. We even lost track of our own banner but on the bus we went up with media from the local newspaper. I'll have more links and pictures when I get the energy.

13. Speaking of Freepers,
does anybody else find it a little ironic that a Freeper appeared to be holding a "Sic Semper Tyrannis" sign? Seems to me that would be more appropriate for our message, since (IMO) the Chimperor and his cronies move closer to tyranny every day.

20. He was probably referring to Hussein.
But, yes, an irony there.

15. Never had that opportunity, but did go to see "The Wall" with my daughter.
To Vietnam I lost some friends, some acquaintances, and a young boy who told his friends that I was the first girl he ever kissed.

I can't even tell you how much I cried that day, visiting the wall. But I do remember telling my daughter, "At least we can say...NEVER AGAIN."

And here we are...AGAIN.

This insanity has to stop!!!

10. Beautiful
Reading your post, I almost feel like I was there. :) (I wish I could've been, but it didn't work out this time. I'm glad so many people got to go, though!) Thanks for the wonderful description and sharing of your experience. K&R! :kick:

16. I remember that feeling from the march in September, 2005.
I knew that day that Bushco's reckoning was coming.

Thank you for going today. I really wished I could have, but maybe next time...
