18. Besides ending the killing,
the whole world has to see that Bush does not really represent the greater numbers of Americans.
The pictures of today's peace marchers remind me of pictures of thousands of Iranians holding a candlelight vigil after 9/11, the same Iranians Bush is planning on bombing.
If I was a Muslim over there, my question would be, "Then why doesn't America remove him from office"?

3. OK, you know what?
I appreciate beyond belief that the world recognizes the collective efforts of the people and their voice.

But goddamnit . . . WILL EVERYONE in the media PLEASE STOP MARGINALIZING THE TURNOUT???!?!?

It was NOT "tens" of thousands.

It was HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.

HUNDREDS.

OF THOUSANDS!

Don't call me a liar. I don't appreciate being called a liar and I don't think the protestors do either.

GET it RIGHT for once.

15. The organizers need to find a way when their group meets give them a pin number.
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 08:06 PM by halobeam
something like that. Then the person can come home afterward and put the "legit" number on the organizations website. Maybe then the organization can upload their count on a NOMOREMARGINALIZEDMARCHES.COM site (cool name?) for a tally by the site admin. (or whomever they are).

How does that sound?

Now granted my neck is out by suggesting something that I have no idea if it would work, but I haven't seen ANY ONE ELSE'S PLAN. lol:hide:

6. Why don't the organizers arrange to have the numbers COUNTED!!
It wouldn't take very much to have one guy delegated with the responsibility to stand at a corner and take a shot of the whole parade as it passes that point, then estimate. Or to hire somebody with a helicopter to take an aerial view and count the damn people!

I know it wasn't ten's of thousands. It was at least 100,000, and I'm thinking the organizers are probably closer with their estimate of 400,000.

But next time we need PROOF!! Somebody needs to take pix of the whole thing or devise some way to get a close count, not just a subjective estimate.

9. Agreed- when we marched 2 years ago, the media barely covered it
We knew there were over 400,000 but "10's of thousands" was all they would report. If anyone has any actual numbers, I'd love to hear them!

21. Adding a few more: People in the US and around the World are
seeing Americans at their best. I'm proud today that around the globe people of most countries can read or hear about the Peace Rally & March. Within the last 2 1/2 months, we have sent strong messages to our government that we want change and we want OUR TROOPS BROUGHT HOME.
The World Community now knows, the majority of Amercian people does not support this administration nor it's plan to increase our military presence on foreign "soils".
