The 700 Club
Is the 700 Club run as a tax exempt religious program?

4. Pat had to sell off a lot of his enterprises several years back
For precisely that reason - the lines were blurred as to what was "ministry" and therefore, tax exempt, and what was a for profit business. He changed the name of CBN Cable to "The Family Channel" insisting it was a completely separate entity - which just happened to run the 700 Club three times a day, and their occasional all day telethons.

Eventually he did sell the channel outright - to Rupert Murdoch. Who eventually sold it to ABC. But it's written into the contracts that the channel will always carry the 700 Club.

I think he also had to do some similar tax dodging paper shuffling with the "Christian Coalition", which is clearly a political organization, and not a church. And possibly Regent University, which was once called CBN University, believe it or not.

6. So I'm guessing they have a right to their political platform?
I'd hate to think that the 700 club didn't pay taxes because it's part of their church and yet they can clearly spout political
dogma. I know this has been going on for years, but for some reason today it jumped out at me while surfing the channels...got to be more careful about that. :puke:

8. There's only one way to find out
Wait for Rev. Robertson to have a word of knowledge that gives the answer.

On the other hand, Rev. Robertson's track record hasn't been so good. Last year, he was part of the "Draft Mark Sanford" movement in the GOP.
