9. Things are still going on in Seattle,
This was just the start of the march.

Ehern Watada will be speaking (started at about 4:00 pm pst) I expect things won't finish until around 6:00.

My Arthritus was kicking up so I didn't feel up to a 12-18 block march...

11. How did law enforcement act?
From all the pics I seen on this and other threads, it appeared that they just observed.

Peaceful protests are the way to go!

13. There were no problems with the police that I know of.
I left after the marche had passed so I don't know about the rest of the day.

There was one problem however:

The march was supposed to stop at a military recruiting station. However the station had been vandalized over night and the leaders of the march indicated that we would not be allowed to stop infornt of the station.

what angers me is that my tax dollars will go to replacing and repairing what the vandals did....

20. New Bedford, Mass
At one of the busiest corners in town, at the edge of a city park. The Universalist Church had people holding signs on the highway overpasses for three hours today too.

Thinking Globally but acting Locally is about all I can afford, so I will be there tomorrow!

28. I took my digital camera today
but I got so involved I never took it out of my pocket! I was amazed at the number of people that showed up. It might not sound like much, but for this smaller city in Massachusetts, we had a turn out of about 100 people!

We're on the map now ... We even got ONE FREEPER-type show up! He drove by with a big cardboard sign on the side of his truck that said "Democraps are cowards". Really easy to be brave driving by in your truck, all by yourself ... not even a dog to keep you company in your freeper-mobile!

Anyway, there was much networking going on today. I am glad to see that there are so many people in the area that are coming out and standing up. I also got the scoop on more local activities that are planned in the very near future. Can't wait to finally find some more kindred spirits to join forces with here in my own backyard!

I told several people about DU and I hope they are checking us out as I type too. I also spread the news about our loss of Boston Progressive Talk and handed out flyers with the address of our petition and group devoted to fighting to bring it back to the airwaves here in Mass.

All told, it was a great day. Sorry I don't have any pictures to share though. Someone was there with a camera and he told me he took the footage to stream on line, so if I find it I will gladly share it.

It's great to see people out there in the old neighborhood of Seattle. I wished something went on here in Spokane.
