I have looked at all the albums(thanks everyone!) but I have yet to see an aerial shot of the full crowd...

I believe that aerial shots are the only way that our message will get out, but in DC marches I believe that the airspace is off limits to private aircraft.

The closest thing that I saw from that protest that resembled an aerial shot was a traffic cam from the top of the Washington Memorial.
I'm with you though, in hoping that there is an aerial shot from today. :hi:

Having briefly worked in TV, though, there are tall booms and small cranes that can be used in that situation. Especially if one had been utilized from atop the steps of the Mall--that would've been a really cool shot!
Guess their corporate masters didn't want that to happen . . .

5. The brief shots I saw on network news tonight |
|
were all at or below eye level.
Usually they just showed a couple of speakers on the platform. A few showed a crowd of ten or twenty with signs. It looked like much fewer than brought down Saddam's statue. They made it look miniscule.
All three networks showed Jane Fonda repeating the exact same line: "I am so sad that we have to do this again..."

4. There might not be any aerial photographs |
|
because D.C. is mostly restricted airspace. A police helicopter or something like that might be the only aircraft that could legally fly over the area.

8. A Park Service helicopter flew over a dozen times. Wish we could |
|
force them to take crowd shots. Also, DC has a million tall buildings--it's winter and the trees have no leaves -- why the heck can't a DC DUer who lives/works in a tall building take a photo?

10. I didn't see helicopters - maybe just one circling around |
|
And VERY few cops. Not like a good old NY protest where many cops in riot gear dog your every move while your penned in behind fences. Today was surprisingly laissez-faire, and helicopters were rare.
