Lindsey Graham to Sonia Sotomayor, summarized:
"Now, I like you. Doesn't that make you happy as all heck? It damn well should, because it means I just might vote to confirm you. I hope you're grateful, even though you're probably not, you bitch.

"Now, as I said...I like you, but these OTHER people say you're a hot-tempered Latina spitfire bitch on wheels. What do you say to that?...Well, I think you'd best go off in the corner and give it some thought, given the situation you find yourself in today, young lady. I think you need to go off and think about this for a little while, don't you?

"Now, I want to ask you something...Does the Constitution have the word 'abortion' in it?...No, that is NOT what I asked you, I ASKED you, DOES THE CONSTITUTION HAVE THE WORD 'ABORTION' IN IT?...It doesn't?...Well then, we've obviously established that Roe v. Wade should be overturned, because there is not even a Constitutional amendment protecting the right to anything called 'abortion.' If you don't agree...well, perhaps your serious lack of regard for the lives of the unborn is another thing you should think about.

"Now, do you remember this statement of yours about a 'wise Latina'? You should--we've only asked you about it a million times, and it's been all over the news, heh heh...Well, could you repeat, word for word, exactly what it was--and when you do, could you please smile and face the Fox News cameras, and speak directly into the Fox News microphone, so they'll get a good media bite to play and replay over and over on their network and stick up on YouTube for people to play over and over until no one can even stomach the thought of you being a Supreme Court judge because you're so blatantly racist?...You can't??...Damn, I thought that would work. Oh well, I suppose I will have to repeat your horrifying words myself...Well then. I certainly hope that if these hearings prove nothing else, they will have proven that even a miscreant, obviously utterly biased and unqualified person such as yourself can be granted by we, the kind and benevolent Republican Party, a second chance to repent your sins, apologize and be washed in the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ before being laughed out of any opportunity to sit on the highest court in the land, despite the obvious error of having made such a hopelessy racist remark.

"That is all. I've enjoyed speaking with you, Ma'am. Thank you."

Graham is from South Carolina. He is the illegitimate son of Strom Thurmond.

4. Does the Constitution have the word copyright in it?
Does it have the word patent?

Does it have the word electricity?

Does it have the word nuclear?

Does it have the word Christ?

Does it have the word helicopter?

Does it have the word rocket?

15. Article I, Section 7
Does cover copyrights and patents, albeit without those words.

But I get the gist of what you mean. Graham has never heard of the 9th Amendment, the poor bastard.

17. without those words...
That is precisely the point.

Senator Graham is arguing that there can be no constitutional right to an abortion, unless the word abortion appears in the Constitution.

By his argument, there can be no constitutional right to patents or copyrights, unless those exact words appear in the Constitution.

Yet, I do not hear Senator Graham argue for the abolishment of patents or copyrights.

Wibbling on, Oh what if poor widdle me had said wise white man, poor widdle me would have been done for. Jesus H. Christ! The guy's from South Carolina and he's whining about how white pols in his state have to sweat over what they say.

10. Just remember: He's the best of their best. Imagine the ones they didn't let talk!
And this it true sunday mornings, too.

When the waste hits the circular ventillation, if they can't get Laura Bush, all they've got left is Lindsey.

They can't even put gramps out there: He's too senile.

11. You've captured
the filth and hatred that spewed past that little prick's lips today - with one exception I want to point out:

'Now, as I said...I like you, but these OTHER people say you're a hot-tempered Latina spitfire bitch on wheels.'

He was not that kind. I think she might have felt complimented had he couched it in those terms, rather than in the ones he did.

I don't know how she managed to calmly sit there and listen while he tried to degrade and humiliate her. Which, of course, he failed to do. The only one he humiliated and degraded today was himself.

12. Well, "hot-tempered Latina spirtfire bitch on wheels" was the only way I could think of
to properly convey the veiled racism...he was doing everything but implying that if seated on the Supreme Court her hairtrigger temper was such that she might go "Ricky Ricardo" at any second.

it would be possible to actually convey how truly racist, sexist, and disgusting that man was today. It was no reflection on your great post that I replied. It was about the unbelievable filth that was forced on her today.

I'm actually stunned by how deeply his hatred apparently runs, and that he was willing put in on public display.

edit: typo

19. "I like you"........
Seriously, would any Senator have said that to a male Supreme Court nominee? Or ask that nominee if he had a "temperament problem"?

The utter vileness of these old white men, who obviously credit themselves with utter rationality and fairness. :eyes:
