I have a confession.
I live in a house.

I know, I know I need help, but I just can't stop living in my house.

I don't know how to give it up.

I started off with the so called gateway small cape. Then a few years later I moved on to a more expensive colonial habitat and then a few years after that I moved up into a home with over 3200 square feet.

I just can't get enough house.

1. How many trees were destroyed to make your damn house?
Hmm? One tree destroyed is one too many.

7. Thanks. With some of the silliness going on today, I try to assume NOTHING
;)

Boy, Rove sure managed to get the discussion off the march AND his being subpoenaed, didn't he? Amazing how many STILL get suckered into the diversions.

I've seen some posts where I thought the sarcasm tag was missing but it turns out that the poster was serious. :eyes:

Rove sure keeps himself busy. Surprised John Mark Karr isn't involved someway. Is there another crime he can "confess" too?

Oh and life without toilet paper would suck. :(

3. They were already built when I bought em.
So I never gave much thought to that in the transaction.

But you are right I should give up living in a house. I just don't know what the alternative might be.

8. Hope you enjoy a REALLY hot planet.....
caused in part by the energy load of trying to heat/cool your McMansion.

S'okay the rest of us will just sit here on the side of the freeway with our signs.

11. A house that size can actually be more energy efficient than my little old one
We've been researching construction methods which are much better and make the place pretty self sufficient. Mass sometimes has an advantage if one positions it well and uses the best methods for their climate.

15. Sure, 2-1500 sq. ft duplexes together....
provide very nice 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath living units with better space and energy efficency for both. When I was a kid my parents purchased a 2100 sq. ft. house with five bedrooms, a family room and full dining room. Of course they had 5 kids.

Today many couples with one kid somehow feel crowded in 2500 sq. ft. houses. I know of one couple with a single child in a house thats about 3200 sq. ft. I've worked in restaurants with professional kitchens and walk-in refrigerators and freezers with less floor space.

Americans use far too much of the worlds resources. A very large portion of those resources we import at the expense of people in less privilidged economies. Those lack of privilidges are enforced at gunpoint.

It's getting to be a problem.

16. I agree with you about US using too much of the resources
But our personal research into building shows mass can be more efficient in many climates. Smaller can be a bigger energy sucker depending on place and materials used.

12. So brave Mass Demm....so, so brave...
MassDemm, I've been living in the shadows for years--afraid to discuss the shame that is living in my house. It
is through your courage, that I ride a wave of disclosure about my home.

It started off innocently enough. We purchased a small condo. They say that condos are the gateway into bigger
home-buying habits, but I never believed them. Pretty soon, 1,500 square feet wasn't enough to quell my house
cravings. I'm ashamed to say...we moved into a 3,000 square-foot home last summer.

I also drive a Ranger Rover.

There. I said it.

My name is TwoSparkles, and I'm a sick, sick woman.

17. Is your house proper? I mean is it made out of bricks,
uses solar energy only, and is less than 500 sq ft? If so, we might let you pass.
