Two rather... annoying op-eds on the recent crisis between Britain and Iran
Edited on Mon Apr-09-07 12:46 PM by FVZA_Colonel
This morning, when picking up the paper, I came across the aformentioned op-ed pieces, written by Charles Krauthammer and Jonah Goldberg. The Goldberg piece was essentially a thinly veiled attempt at calling the British "pussies," entitled "the Brit's have gone wobbly." The Krauthammer piece, on the other hand, was devoted to insulting the very idea of multilateralism, blaming "international cooperation" for the continuance of Darfur, the North Korean bomb, Iran's bomb project, etc., all of which could really be laid at the feet of Bush's first four or five (hell, it's continuing to this day) years of unilateralism. It does this by thouroughly denouncing the EU and the UN ("if you want to get the shaft, go to the EU... go to the Security Council, get a toothless resolution"), fully accrediting America for resolving the crisis by allowing the release of one Iranian diplomat and allowing visitation rights for the five held since the consulate raid, ending the piece with something like "if you want to get something done, come see big, bad America and we'll do it.

I must ask what role did America really play in this, because as far as I know Blair essentially told us to but out.
