Language. Actions. There is a difference. They are related but there is a big difference.
Calling someone names hurts. Language hurts. Actions hurt also but in soooooo many ways that many of us cannot comprehend. Yes, they are both part of the same thing, but PART of the same thing, not the same thing. And yes, calling someone a name takes language into action, but there is a difference between being called a name and being physically persecuted for whatever characteristic is chosen.

Be nice. Be fair. Be good to each other. Do not just tolerate differences but seek them out and embrace them because if we were all the same, things would be not very good. Be humane. Be part of the HUMAN race, be part of the WORLD. Look at yourself, really look. Then get on with life and being humane.

I'm tired of all I have read this evening, all that I decided to not reply to. Good night and good luck.

1. Language leads to action
Language shapes attitudes which then shape actions.

I read a book a while ago written by a soldier who deserted rather than go back to Iraq. Part of his training was slashing at dummies while yelling racial insults like sand nigger. If language did not help dehumanize the Other and make violent actions towards the Other possible, then why would such a thing be part of training for war?

No, they're not the same thing. But everything is interrelated.
