Hal Turner is claiming he told the FBI about a plot to kill the president
Hal Turner: FBI informant?

CHICAGO (AP) — The lawyer for a blogger accused of threatening to kill three Chicago-based federal judges says his client has been an FBI informant.

Attorney Michael Orozco also says his client gave authorities information about a plot to assassinate President Barack Obama.

Orozco made the statement during a bond hearing Tuesday after his client, extremist blogger Hal Turner, pleaded not guilty. Turner is accused of telling visitors to his Web site that the three judges “deserve to be killed” for upholding Chicago’s ban on handguns.

But federal prosecutor William Hogan told the judge that he’d “never heard anything about that” and that Turner’s contacts with the FBI ended “some time ago.”
