the problem i see is not weight of an individual cop, nor is it "one bad apple" that the rest of the cops cover for (altho there's some of that in new orleans proper), my problem is entire precints/small town police depts where EVERY cop, fat, skinny, black, white, whatever, is in on an organized crime scam

for instance, in one small town near me, the entire police dept was busted for stealing drugs and guns, presumably for resale, in another near me, for selling false credentials, in a third larger town where i lived they were NOT busted and it's an intergenerational culture that everyone knows about that this police dept funnels cocaine and other contraband into southeast louisiana and no one wants to speak out because frankly i wanna live

a fat cop eating a donut is the least of my worries

the cop who threatened to arrest ME because i filed a report after one of "his" crackheads shot up my house with me in it -- yah, baby, that worries me (i no longer live in that town or i would be afraid to post this stor y even anonymousely, this is the level of fear we're talking about)

Of course, IIUC, the issue was an inability to resume standing after kneeling during shooting qualifications without support and its not clear to me how essential it is to kneel when shooting.

It should be straight up standards.

Now, in the case of this cop, can he chase a bad guy? Climb a fence? Physically deal with a strong criminal? I doubt it.

hyped up on Adrenalin while carrying 30 pounds of stuff on his duty belt catch him? I doubt it, quit watching cops, most of those shows are BS anyway.

9. The kneeling while shooting is important to shooting around barriers.

Like taking cover behind the door of your car while returning fire.
If the cop wants to not have holes in him, he should be able to shoot well from lots of different positions.

Perhaps a trip to the sauna now and then as addition to diet and exercise, but in general we want to slowly melt, not ignite, the fat...
