We all know where the "Teddybear" came from

The same president that first proposed health care for all. Theodore Roosevelt.

In response to a RW whack job referring to "Obamacare" I pointed out there is no such thing. and instead offered "Teddycare" as a term for Universal health care. after all it was one of Teddys ideas to begin with.

It also could used be to pay homage to Ted Kennedy as he has been an advocate his whole career.

Teddycare... it rings and I like it... Thoughts?

2. Since it's not going to turn out to be

anything resembling what Senator Kennedy had in mind for the American people, I'd rather not see his name attached to this abomination.

He deserves better.

But the name's awfully good, and maybe someday, if we somehow were to get universal health care, the kind that covers all Americans, I hope people remember the man who devoted so much of his professional life to this cause, and it can be known as "TeddyCare."

Lexicon has named a universal level of comfort to him in the Teddybear.

Just about any 3 year old knows what comfort a "Teddy" brings.

4. Given the plans that are coming out of the House and Senate

(to date) I don't think it pays homage to Senator Kennedy to link his name to it.

As the far as HR3200 and its mandated coverage goes, "Romney Care" seems to have a catchy ring.

just to stick it in their ear is good enough for me.

once Theodore was out of office they turned on Him and his ideals... that's why Franklin picked up the torch. republicans use his name (Theodore) all the time, yet forget his ideals. hell they even started mining the grand canyon. when T. Roosevelt said "Leave it alone, nature did this magnificent work with a river and thousands of years. all man could do is muck it up." or something to that effect.

"Teddy" is sadly infantilized. Whether for TR or "Teddy" Kennedy, I don't think it's really emblematic enough.

Might I propose: Medicomp.

Medicare for those who apply to it under its regs, but compensation for those who don't.
