Prop 8 to be challenged in 2012.
It looks through an e-mail from Equality California that the organization is going to choose to wait until 2012 to bring the issue back to the voters. I'm sure the information is up on their sit but in summation: They feel that in an off year election older voters are likely to go to the poll(Which is true, without a doubt), and younger ones less likely. In the 2012 election more younger voters= more votes for equal marriage rights and as such their best chance is going to be in 2012. That also by waiting for it then, keeping an actual campaign going for three years, and then getting the state to vote in the affirmative they could actually be able to cement victory. Make it permanent.

Waiting for equal treatment under the law and common human decency sucks. Hard. But I see there logic in this. :/ I'm with them on this one.

2. Sucks for the wait, but I suppose it's better to wait and succeed than hurry and fail...

I suppose the money expenditures involved make it impractical to make a go of it both years.

4. Putting it to public vote is what sucks
The majority should not have the power to decide what rights the minority does and does not have. it sets a dangerous precedent. Still. Whatever it takes to get htat abomination off the books

5. This is a hard one to swallow
Wait? Why should my friends or anyone have to "wait." This is frustrating and I can only guess how much, and I understand what is being put forth but it's still wrong IMHO to make anyone wait 3 more years for what? A maybe we'll let you? Or not!

That feels wrong to me. I'll honor which ever way it goes but nobody is less than in my book. Matter of fact most of my friends are greater than:rofl: and that's the truth;-)
