1. I just loooooooove Laura I.
Radio talker Laura Ingraham mused, "What kind of man orders a cheeseburger without ketchup but Dijon mustard?"

Gee, maybe somebody who likes a spicy mustard?
(at least he hasn't slept with Rush!)

3. Her recommendation for condiments won't fly in Texas. No ketchup, lots of
regular mustard is how most burgers are made here unless you request something else.

what kind of man would order his hamburger without bacon, jalapenos, mustard, extra cheese . . .

questioning manhood? If the size of one's ass is inversely proportionate to the size of one's manhood then most American men are silly little girls.

And if it ain't so the size of one's ass often precludes the exercise of one's manhood so, most American men are still silly little girls. With fat asses.

edited to add: not intending misogyny - just pushing buttons with THAT crowd.

7. Proof that Laura hasn't eaten a burger outside of McDonalds or Burger King in ages
I can't think of a restaurant outside of those two that automatically assumes that you want ketchup on your burger.

They know who's in charge. They are just calling out the right wing of America for what they are. A bunch of very stupid people.

5. scary stuff - indeed -- the batshit craziness of the American right never ceases to amaze me

There is virtually nothing Obama can do these days that doesn't inspire one right-wing pundit or another to suggest he is really a European in disguise. In May, he and Joe Biden went out for a bite to eat at Ray's Hell Burger, a Washington, D.C., hamburger joint. The vice president ordered a cheeseburger with jalapeño peppers; the president ordered his with mustard─and not just any mustard. He asked for Dijon, an unpardonable sin that to the right reeked of effete European elitism. Soon after, Hannity and others attempted to smear the president as something less than a full-blooded American man for having the audacity to order something that originated in France and then popularized with a British voice in the famous commercials for Grey Poupon. Radio talker Laura Ingraham mused, "What kind of man orders a cheeseburger without ketchup but Dijon mustard?"

"It is getting much, much uglier. Perhaps realizing that Europe in fact has something to offer the United States─and recalling, perhaps, that the EU, whatever its flaws, remains the United States' greatest ally─Limbaugh is taking things a step further, back to a time when parts of Europe really were the enemy. On his radio program last week, Limbaugh compared all the ways Obama is like Adolf Hitler. "Obama is asking citizens to rat each other out like Hitler did," he said. "Adolf Hitler, like Barack Obama, also ruled by dictate," he said. And so on. On Aug. 11, Fox News talk-show host Glenn Beck rolled footage of Nazis on the march and started tearing up when he compared America to Weimar Germany, arguing that with the United States on the way to economic collapse, the time could soon come when the government will decide that it can no longer afford to provide health care for the elderly and disabled. Just as the Nazis did."

they are attempting to discredit Europe because western European nations have shown the U.S. is a SHAMEFUL NATION when it comes to its treatment of the poor and middle class.

cue the Green Day.

8. They've gotta blame SOMEONE.
Lower infant-mortality rates, higher life expectancies, essentialy free education, health care that doesn't put you in the poorhouse...what's not to hate?

We're not Number 1 in a lot of this stuff anymore (if we ever WERE in some categories). Perhaps the numbers are starting to sink in, and the free-enterprise-uber-alles crowd doesn't like it one bit, no sir.

So let's blame the smart kids in class for raising the grading curve.

9. I was born in Europe and lived there
off and on..didn't peak English until I was 14..from experience there are a lot of things that we should admire and emulate the Europeans for, just as there are some things the continent could learn from the US. GOD I HATE IGNORANCE!!!

11. Fighting tooth and nail to remain stupid and ignorant.
That's what all this tea-baggin' and screaming and threatening comes down to.

An entire movement bent on running themselves into the ground. Insistent that giant non-American business monopolies be free to cheat them. Free to cut their wages in half. To outsource their American jobs to COMMUNIST China. To cut-off the insurance they've been paying into for years on a whim (or to get the CEO his 4th yacht).

They will threaten with guns, mobs... anything to prevent having to learn something new today.

Some type of Munchhausen Syndrome has been cultivated in the minds of Right Wing radio listeners.

"Take me down. Rub my nose in the dirt. Rig America up in a way that defeats me. Make me be isolated, defenseless and silent. Real Men love the Voice. The one on the radio that tells him how patriotic he is for allowing his livelihood to be disappeared. The one that praises his courage for lying down in front of the steam-roller."

How do we fight something like that?
