phone numbers for Grassley
Sent out this email to my listservs. He deserves to hear the rage.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Thought I would send out phone numbers for Grassley's state offices. Please call and register your disgust.
May want to throw a comment about the "campaign contributions" from the HC industry.

1. Let them know that they are not fair brokers of healthcare reform.
and that we recognize this. Let them know that they are there to represent all the people, including the ones who cannot purchase or afford the products of the healthcare and insurance industries. That each one of us is a voter and we will remember. Let them know your story and ask them to explain how they anticipate addressing your needs as a constituent. And let them know that healthcare reform is more important to you than their political careers and you are sick of stunts and stalling.

2. Called. Got hung up on by Washington staff when I asked how much he's

gotten in campaign contributions from the health insurance industry.

Then called the Davenport office, and had a surprisingly good conversation with a woman who said she's in the process of doing end-of-life planning with a parent, and was not happy with Chuck's comments. She read me a statement that came out of the Washington office, saying he doesn't think govt should be involved in end-of-life decisions. I told her none of the bills mandate any discussion at all, and certainly don't mandate govt input. She said, "I know. I don't know what to tell you." She sounded exasperated--with Grassley!

3. We did a mass walk in at the Davenport office. She is a very nice lady.
She was in complete agreement with us. She has had some insurance issues in her family also.
Today I got a guy at the Davenport office and he wasn't very nice.
Haven't been able to get the Washington office yet.
Told Cedar Rapids I was disgusted by his openly selling his vote on HC to the HC industry. We used to call it bribery.

4. You're right about the lady in Davenport. I really felt for her. Wouldn't want her job today,
especially considering she has a conscience.
