Anti-Conservative Quote for August 13, 2009
The only truly new ideas the Right has come up with in the last twenty years are (1) supply side economics, which is a way of redistributing the wealth upward toward those who already have more than they know what to do with, and (2) creationism, which is a parallel idea for redistributing ignorance out from its fundamentalist strongholds to those who know more than they need to.

5. I love condensed information like this.
It really gives me what I need. I believe that people respond to short pieces of information far better than long dialogues.

I just talked with a good friend today about someone we've known for most of our lives. He's listening to Glen Beck. That had us both very worried. It's hard to discuss someone out of their ideas. You need short pieces of factoids in order to size up the opponent with brevity. Or so I think.

By the way, my friend had never heard of Glen Beck until a week or two ago. We weren't television kids. We were welding at the age of 9. Building things. TV was never part of our lives. So he took it upon himself to experience Beck, and it took him all of several minutes for him to put Beck on his ten worst human beings list. I come from an elite group of non-bullshitters.

What were we talking about? Sorry. I just got in from a 20 mile bike ride, and my head is still pumping away. :)
