LOS ANGELES — A man suspected of making threats against the White House is in a standoff with authorities outside the Federal Building in West Los Angeles.

Police Sgt. Kevin Lowe says officers pursued the suspect's red Volkswagen through the city's west side and surrounded his car at the building's entrance.

Several patrol cars are at the scene, and officers have their guns drawn. A police bomb squad has also arrived, including a four-wheeled robot.

Lowe says the man is wanted for questioning by the Secret Service. He says two misdemeanors warrants are out for the man's arrest, but he would not provide more details.

Yes, the government does come for you when you make threats against government officials.
