2. Wow. "School-based clinics" immediately makes them think of contraception
and abortion. "School-based clinics" makes me think of the kids who don't get breakfast and lunch without school-based programs and could use medical care that takes place outside an ER.

3. but their kids have a doctor and healthcare and they probably can afford to get the
kids breakfast and everything. they got theirs..... so screw everyone else. how will those health savings accounts work when they aren't working to put money in them because they are SICK??

5. I hate to break it to the ladies in the top photo, but I suspect
we're paying for their health care. If they want to turn in their Medicare cards and get a HSA, they are welcome to do so.

6. Funny. I thought HSA's already existed
I HAVE one with a high-deductible ($2900) health insurance plan through Anthem (and it simply doesn't work if you can't afford to put money into it let alone pay the medical bills you have!!!!)

7. In my school, the abortion room was between the band room and the audio-visual storage area
-but seriously, the institution of the "school nurse" has been abandoned by almost everywhere -because its too expensive. The teachers are currently *additionally* burdened with having to keep track of every kid's allergies & medication needs, not to mention the kids with mysterious bruises.

9. Here we have 2 part time nurses for 6000 kids.
Each school has a 6 hour para. That's it.

14. I remember when we had a full time school nurse.
Now, my kids school has 1 nurse that travels to all the schools in the district.

In some instances, we are really going the wrong direction.

10. And the problem with that would be...what, exactly?
There should be free condom dispensers in every middle and high school bathroom.

16. We had a big bucket of free condoms in the nurse's office
No questions asked, but she was there to talk if you wanted to.

I think that's the ideal way to do it.

11. I would caution against ever paying a doctor "yourself" in this system.
Haven't they ever seen the game that is played between what doctors charge & what is actually paid by insurance companies? Under no circumstances should a novice/individual be forced into that kind of negotiation. I can't imagine what happens to people who have to go to the doctor & have to pay directly out of pocket right now.

17. I love the sign that just says "NO!" on it. It PERFECTLY sums up their attacks on Obama and Co.
They don't know what they're against, or WHY... but they're AGAINST IT GOD DAMN IT!
