Anybody listen to NPR any more? I just caught the first half hour of
talk of the nation. They had some right wing former congressman on. He hit all the talking points with nary a challenge from the host. He described the mob as well informed. No challenge.
I have been listening to NPR since probably 1974. They were once excellent. Now I cringe when I drive because my choices are shitty music, RW radio and NPR.
And no I won't get XM and I really don't want to listen to CDs. This is America. We are supposed to have choice. Real choice.

3. Yes, you're right, they've got lying repuglicants on there constantly
but we do have a choice, choose to turn NPR off. I did. It's that easy, just like all the advertisers who are ditching Glenn Beck. If media sources choose to commit suicide, I don't have to listen to it while they do.

8. I really like to have the radio on when I drive. I am a radiophile
but in my area I am down to NPR as a choice. I feel like a vegan at a hog roast. I get a skinny ear of corn.

4. I stopped listening to NPR and switched to C-SPAN
Edited on Thu Aug-13-09 02:38 PM by woo me with science
a long time ago...except for shows like Click and Clack or This American Life.

It's C-SPAN all the way for me, now. Probably the least-filtered news source we have left.

"advertizing"....chuckles...

10. I heard the Republican
Say we have ideas on health care, but the Democrats won't listen to us. What ideas? Health care savings accounts.

Also a few minutes later on a different subject a caller out the host filling in for Neil Conan about an all right wing panel.
She shot him down.

12. Yes. I heard it. I like NPR for the most part but was disappointed at the lack of
counter speak. It was very lopsided.
MPR od mid-MN (MN Public Radio) biggest advertiser sponsor now is the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce. I can see where that is going. MPR down the tubes.

Not public radio at all any more.
They give one side now, the corporate side. It's a shame because I used to play jazz overnights on a college station that ran npr.

It really is sad.

14. Your choice is to no longer listen to them, and you have a choice
to no longer buy any products that are advertised on their stations...its very simple really, I don't believe we the people honestly understand just how much power we have and that we have always had choices, we have simply made the wrong ones.

I don't care for their Religion correspondent at all.

And I could do without Juan Williams and Cokie Roberts.

21. I listen to Fresh Air on the way home from work
The San Antonio public station has a lot of programming from PRI (Public Radio International) as well as NPR. I guess I'm lucky to find non-offensive programming during my commute. I'm pulling into work as "Talk of the Nation" starts, so if I'm not missing anything, thanks for the heads up. Sorry about your plight.
