So Does Anybody Think We'll Be Seeing John Mackey, Whole Foods CEO......
on one of the cable news shows defending himself? Or will he crawl into a hole somewhere and hide from his stupidity for his comments on health reform in WSJ?

No more Whole Foods for me - and I understand the this boycott sentiment is growing all over the U.S.

Open mouth and insert one's organic foot - OOOPS!!!!!!

9. And to avoid "anti-trust" violations they tried to use the courts to get New Seasons internal data

... so that they could "show" that buying out Wild Oats wouldn't constitute a monopoly to the FTC, since they still had a viable competitor in Portland of the big "New Seasons" chain there. So they had the courts subpoena New Seasons for their internal sales data, etc. WTF! That's like Microsoft getting Apple's data because they don't want to be considered a monopoly. So, this screwed up behavior by these scam artists hasn't just started with this CEO's comments the other day.

I shop at New Seasons all the time and some at Trader Joes as well. I'm told that it was started by people who left the Wild Oats chain.

6. It's hysterical that this is a boycott that might work....
I'm normally skeptical of boycotts. But Whole Foods is a company that I would venture to guess has a large majority liberal and/or democratic clientele. So when they go away....it could have an impact.

I don't have a Whole Foods near me but I did buy their stock to support what I thought was a more organic based company. I plan on selling the stock now.

8. Good for you! Sell it!
They are a sweat shop - at least with their salaried employees.

I worked for WF for six months. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I worked in one of the regional offices. The day I started, the department was down three positions. Within a few weeks, two other employees quit - Wild Oats employees who didn't like the WF management. The department manager, who was in way over his head, refused to fill the positions, so a team of 8 was doing the work of 13. I was working 60+ hours a week. One night I calculated my hourly rate & the next day I gave my notice. Ours was not the only department that functioned that way.
