Adam, Eve the final explanation for sin?
Eric Chalimonczyk letter: Adam, Eve the final explanation for sin?

Published Sunday, January 28, 2007
From reading the dissertations of letter-writers regarding the blood type of Adam and Eve, one deduces that they are treating Adam and Eve as two different individuals. They were not. Eve, according to the Genesis story, was a clone of Adam and thus her blood type would have been the same as Adam’s. Yahweh purposely used Adam’s rib to “create” Eve, foregoing the use of primordial muck from which he fashioned Adam.

Since there are a variety of blood types within the human family, Genesis as a substitute for science of genetics, is of doubtful value. It was a subtle attempt by the Yahvistic compilers of the middle-eastern legends to diminish the stature of women in patriarchal society. What better way to achieve it than to submerge her identity in man’s? That process is still going on.

One other aspect of this intriguing saga is tweaking this octogenarian mind: If Adam and Eve were of the same flesh, wouldn’t their union render us all children of incest? And if so, would this be the final explanation for original sin?

With all the gagging and pathological fear of cloning and its confusion with generic engineering going on at the moment, this should make for some exploding heads, don'tcha think? BTY, I think cloning has its own set of problems and is not the answer to a more abundant food supply.

7. Yep, Eve cannot be a clone. A clone is an exact replica.

9. Origins of "SIN"

Most of us have bought into sin as something terrible and awful. It is something we have been taught to feel guilty and bad about. Sin was originally meant to be positive feedback. The English translation of the Aramaic word, khata, is 'sin.' It is an archery term. When you fired at a target and missed the bull's eye, the scorekeeper yelled, 'Sin!' It meant, 'You are off the mark,' which, in practical terms, means less than your highest and best. It does not mean you are evil, damned or should be groveling in the dirt. The simple implication is to adjust your aim, it's time to take another shot, time to do something differently in your life!

10. We are not children of incest
If Eve was derived from Adam and we are children of their union then technically we are the children of masturbation. Just wanted to clear that up.
