Anybody hear Juan Williams insult Ted Kennedy on NPR?
He named several people who had worked with or for Sen. Kennedy and closed his comments by saying, "A real Mafia."

(That's what I heard -- if that's not what he said, please correct me.)

So I googled Juan Williams (don't have TV) and find he works with the Fox Mafia and the Wall Street Mafia, and was once criticized for calling Michelle Obama "Stokely Carmichael in a designer dress."

So I googled Stokely Carmichael, and found him thus described in The New York Times: "Tall, slim, handsome and a dynamic speaker, Carmichael soon emerged as a leader, cocky enough to be described as looking like he was strutting when standing still."
http://www.interchange.org/Kwameture/nytimes111698.html

Which makes me think Williams must be short and pudgy, and jealous of every tall articulate person he meets whose IQ is over 100.

And apparently the poor guy is insecure enough as a male so he thought his comment about Michelle was an insult.

I just have to feel sorry for Juan.

1. Williams is a total tool with a string of sexual harrasment charges as long as your arm. That's why
he supported Clarence Thomas.

14. Did not know those things. Ugh.
Just couldn't bring myself to read his biography.

At least I know now to tune out when he's on the radio (NPR is actually preferable to the myriad Jaybus Wants Yew stations so prevalent in the midwest.)

3. NPR
is no longer the 'sensible' substitute for MSM. It's watered down and infiltrated by the conservative right. Not that the rights shouldn't be on NPR. All reporters (do we still call them that?) should present the facts and stay away from editorializing, unless they tell the listener first, "this is an editorial' or 'here is my opinion'

15. David Frum's opinion pieces are aired less frequently than Robert Reich's
but I think Frum just can't think and type as fast as Reich!

I was really listening to Williams' comments this morning because the story seemed so fact-oriented, so it was doubly NASTY to hear that zinger at the end. Williams just couldn't help himself, I guess.

Reminds me of the old joke, "My dear, what a beautiful dress! That dress is simply gorgeous! What a pity they didn't have it in your size."

I was kind of surprised, usually that idiot can't go more than a minute without showing his true colors. I thought that maybe the fact that Kennedy was dead was going to keep Williams at least respectful but then he had to throw that little slur out at the end.

Juan Williams is a prick plain and simple.

So glad to know it's not an insult when a political commentator on a national program associates a just-deceased, much-loved public figure with Mafia tactics.

Here all these years I've thought the Mafia was a bad thing!

He's just a whore. I've been listening to him on NPR for years. Before he went to Fox, he wasn't good, he wasn't bad, just a useless vanilla NPR talking head. Then when he went to Fox. Like Mara Liasson (sp?), he knows who signs his checks. I just wish that NPR would cut them both off. But they won't.

18. Juan Williams is a right wing tool -- and has also been accused of sexual harassment . . .
during his time at the NY Post --

that's as I recall it -- and a notable female author -- also African-American -- worked

with him there and down the line brought this issue forward. Evidently, it was keep rather

quiet. It involved more than one woman.

Juan Williams also managed over the last years of right wing control of public broadcasting

to be appointed as a "news analyst" at NPR!!!

He's also been involved with PBS working on a number of documentary series!

In order to keep his own little ego puffed up, he has to grope subordinate women and insult confident women. Pathetic POS.

35. No! No! No!
The fact that Williams felt compelled to insult both Michelle (tall, slender, beautiful, charismatic) and Carmichael (tall, slender, handsome, charismatic) shows he feels insecure, so I assumed from the quality of his insults that he is of the short-and-pudgy persuasion, and resents the fact!

I am short and pudgy!
But I seem to manage to venture through life without making sexist comments about people.

I probably would have blown a cerebral vessel trying to watch that interview, so it's a good thing I gave away the TV years go. Listening to NPR is bad enough.

I'm sure a "personality" like Williams would be totally cowed by somebody as bombastic as Cheney.

Have a hunch Cheney would never consent to being interviewed on NPR. He's so rude and obnoxious he'd ride rough-shod over any NPR interviewer anyway.

And Cheney is too cowardly and shrewd to grant an interview with Amy Goodman. I'd trust her to interview anybody, but Cheney would chicken out and would never consent to the interview.

50. After Amy's tempering (as in steel) experience at the Republican
National Convention (thrown around by the cops and arrested even though her Press credentials were hanging around her neck, clearly visible) -- I'd love to give the now-seasoned Amy a couple live electrodes and some shackles hanging off the kleig-lights bar, and see what sort of "useful information" she could get out of Darth -- which could perhaps save thousands of American lives in the future (many of them U.S. troops).

I betcha she COULD get us some useful info. So, maybe I'm wrong -- maybe torture isn't always a bad thing, eh??? Ha!

Yes, he would never agree to an interview with someone who might ask him real questions. Especially not somebody as astute as Amy.
