I get so irate reading all this fearmongering about "health care rationing" by the right wing idiots.
The talking point whenever you hear that, should be that we already have it now. It's just being done by the insurance companies. Everything they try to scare us with is already happening... Millions of people are denied health care treatments because some profit-motivated accountant sitting behind a desk doesn't want to pay for it.
Rightwing talking point: If we have a public option, the government will be making decisions about what treatments we can and can't have.
Response: We already have that. Only it's the private insurance companies that are sitting behind desks and making these decisions.
So if you want to really worry about people behind desks making decisions about your health care, and you want to have any shred of reality-based thought, you have to ask yourself, who would you rather have sitting behind that desk -- a private company motivated by profit, or a government agency with no profit motive?
I think most people would take door #2.
And these morans have to realize, the thing they're trying to scare us with, we're already living with it today!
