BIDEN: "Its Not Americans/Congress That Emboldens The Enemy-Its The FAILED POLICY OF THIS PRESIDENT"
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 11:56 AM by kpete
"It's not the American people or the U.S. Congress who are emboldening the enemy," said Democratic Sen. Joe Biden, a White House hopeful in 2008. "It's the failed policy of this president — going to war without a strategy, going to war prematurely."

1. my respect for biden has actually jumped
I guess he's not just a mushy milquetoast hack from Delaware. I just hope he's not only doing this because he wants to be president.

2. Well, I think he's doing it because he wants to be President and, it's the right thing.
He's articulate and sounds impassioned. That's cool. MKJ

3. Biden is really good on his feet.
And he's real good on foreign policy, too.

Dubya is weak on both counts.

5. Going to war ILLEGALLY, Senator Biden
Nothing people in Congress say about the war matters if they don't recognize this underlying reality.
If you don't recognize the totally unacceptable, totally illegal character of what Bush has started, you are led back by the nose to supporting the war aims, the objective, and the Bush policy of preemptive belligerence and world domination no matter how you criticize the incompetence of the Originator's implementation. You end up trying to finish what Bush started for him, or dropping it lazily without repudiating the idea behind it, leaving open the chance that we will try the same shit again in the future.

The problem with the policy isn't that it has FAILED, the problem with the policy is that the policy is FASCIST. The policy is imperial conquest: an attempt to grab oil, create a puppet regime, and intimidate an entire region of the world into pants-pissing submission. Do we want that kind of policy to work?

6. It's sad we have to credit a politician for saying the sky is blue
After he equivocated about sky-blueness for the three most important years of azurosity.
