Five this week, 31 since they were deployed in October. How long must this go on?

Here is the story from our local news tonight, if you're interested. They're all so young, even younger than my youngest daughter. It's so painful to keep hearing these stories.

Two Indiana families informed of soldiers' deaths
April 13, 2007 6:32 PM

UNDATED
The families of two soldiers from Indiana have been informed of their deaths in Iraq.

The Army gave them little information about the death of Specialist Jason Beadles of LaPorte.
The family was told the 22-year-old died yesterday.

Beadles was a heavy equipment operator in Iraq. His mother says the Army turned him from a
teenage practical joker into a respectful soldier.

The family of 20-year-old Specialist Cody Putman, who lived in the Lafayette area, was also
informed of his death in Iraq yesterday.

Putman was home on leave just two weeks ago.

His mother, Pam Mow, says her son was sent to Iraq last October, a month after marrying
his girlfriend, Mollie. The couple has a three-year-old daughter.

He was a member of the 40th Cavalry Regiment, based in Alaska.
