So Al Gore was DLC...okay BUT....

There are many people who feel it would be hypocritical for Anti-DLC people to back Al Gore for President. Like we all might as well support Hillary Clinton. The thing about Al Gore is this. I think he realized he had been betrayed by the DLC and now that he no longer has to answer to the DLC, Gore is far more strident and more passionate. I honestly feel he was not comfortable with the DLC. If he runs in 2008, he will not be beholden to the DLCers and would run a more effective campaign and has a better chance at actually winning.

17. I don't hate DLC or DLC members at all. I don't like the leadership....

and I don't like the goals of their founders. I think many members go along with their views of taking the party to the empty space left when the Republicans moved to the extreme right...in other words acting a lot like them.

But I think many needed their money to win their campaigns. It's a big money world, and the DLC has the big money.

I am cautious and concerned about them, I don't hate them. I don't hate anyone.

I held my nose and voted for him in 2000, if Dennis doesn't make it, I don't foresee any noseholding to vote for Al.

I held my nose in 2000 for Gore and now I think he has proven his worth and I can feel better about voting for him if he wins the nomination in '08.

I have always given money to the DLC, never realizing that the DLC is in may ways a subchapter of the democratic party.

Al From criticized Gore after the 2000 election for going "populist". He suggested that if he had stuck with the DLC message, he would have "won". Seems I recall that Gore came from far back in the polls to win the majority of the votes??
