Soldiers' crimes signal need

Nicholas Rusanoff, 25, is one of a growing number of soldiers who have returned from the war in Iraq only to become entangled in the criminal justice system at home.

Last update: March 26, 2007 – 6:27 AM

SAN JOSE, Calif. — One night last July, Iraq war veteran Nicholas Rusanoff followed his neighbor, Peter Losher, into the parking garage of their apartment complex.

Rusanoff was breathing heavily. His eyes were wide open, and his hands were clasped behind his back. He demanded the keys to Losher's Volkswagen Jetta, and Losher quickly complied.

"As I was getting out of the vehicle, he looked at me and said, 'You're not Iraqi, you're not Iraqi,"' Losher later testified at a court hearing. "I said, 'No, I am not."'

Losher said he could hear Rusanoff screaming in pain as he drove away.

1. Send him to see George Bush.
He can use him as a prop, thank him for his service and send him home. Things will be all better then.

2. I hope Bush will have nightmares,
really scary, sweat inducing nightmares - for all the suffering and pain his arrogance and hubris has caused.

He might not have had a good night's sleep in years.

6. That depends.
This particular sociopath is medicated into unconsciousness.

He's shown many of the various side-effects of different, high-potency sleep aids.

7. That's a good point, Doc. While there's little doubt he's heavily medicated....
...we really can't be sure just what meds he's taking, or why.

Nice to think he maybe can't sleep. Thanks!

11. No... the fate is worse.
Most of the high-potency sleep aids (benzodiazepines) have side-effects so abhorrent, many protested their approval.

The psychiatrists, on the other hand, were split. (gee... I wonder)

The ones that put you to sleep interfere with sleep function appreciably over time. The side-effects of long-term habitual use include psychosis, amnesia, psychotic episodes, mania, mild phobia, narcolepsy, and a host of other, milder side-effects.

There are far more profound effects as well, but those aren't supported yet.

Suffice it to say, he will A) Likely have more medical issues in his 70s than most. B) Likely have to deal with greater memory loss, and what can only be described 'psychotic episodes' for many years to come.

5. Why was Rusanoff screaming in pain as he drove away?
If Rusanoff had just demanded and gotten the car keys from Losher?

I know I am tired, but I can't figure out what I am missing here...
