I just saw 20 minutes of Senator' Clinton's Iowa appearance on SPAN

I had the same feeling I have when I see a bad game show contestant, I felt embarassed for her. The staging could not be more contrived. Why does think that being more like a Republican is the winning strategy.

Examples: The questions all look planted.

The guy who shows up to tell her that its time to go and she says "they can wait". What the hell is this a hollywood tryout for a movie?

2. You're obviously not a Hillary supporter!
There have beena lot of posters here who thought she did very good.

Each to their own opinion.

5. Wow, I watched the same thing and had the OPPOSITE reaction
I thought she seemed incredibly sincere and unrehearsed. And the questions planted? I didn't get that sense at all. Oh well.

13. I read the same thing
I couldn't watch it. Does anyone know if she was asked about Iraq? If not, then it leads me to believe that has paid close attention to *'s stagecrafting.

15. If you're going to post "I haven't confirmed this, but..."
You should just stop right there and do your homework, then post. Just my opinion.

Personally I didn't watch the whole thing but I would've been shocked if someone asked her about Iraq and she said "I refuse to answer that." Sheesh.

23. You're right. I should've verified it first. Point well taken.
Perhaps the questions were vetted. Hell. What do I know? Like I stated earlier, I only watched the first 5-8 minutes.

12. Some of it looked good - but what was that "giggling"
loudly at each "joke" embedded in various questions to her. Same blustery laugh each time. It didn't seem authentic - but forced and "cued". I don't think it was all staged - but i do think that her responses were very coached (as in how to respond to x ory scenario type question).

I heard her speak, in person, several times before she was a senator - and she was impressive. One time was a fundraiser for Boxer in California - it was a late-hour (close to election - hurriedly put together) fundraiser and there was a greater turnout than expected so there was the main banquet room with the candidates and donors - and a spillover banquet room with the speeches piped in (I was in the spillover room). After the main speeches, the candidates came and spoke again to the spill over group. Because we had just heard the first speech -they couldn't just do a 'canned' speech - it was great. Spontaneous, passionate, moving.

I didn't hear that at all in the town meeting. Yes she was conversational. But also someone - stilted. I was disappointed.

19. That's exactly how I wold describe my reaction as well
Loosen up girl! The country wants a WOMAN, not a woman who does all the same deceptive shit any man would do. Very few people want the first female president to be someone who is unable to convey her natural warmth and genuine nature.

26. and the woman I heard speak before was fantastic.
First time in Ann Arbor - after the second pres. debate against bush in Lansing - Clinton and entourage came to Ann Arbor for the afterspeech event (bush did his in Lansing) - thousands attending - Bill was hoarse and couldn't say much - and then Hillary spoke and WOW! The next time I described above - great stump speech followed by a very effective off-the-cuff speech - and worked the crowd with it - very authentic, very connecting.

Sort of makes me think she is being over-handled and over-coached ... ala Gore in 2000.

completely without spontaneity.

Didn't see this appearance, so cannot comment on what you are saying regarding this specific instance.
