It won't let me copy it but his pic is at the link..second pic down the page (not the boy being carried out by police)

Students said he first killed his ex and her new lover at Virginia Tech University, Blacksburg. The slaughter began at 7.15am when the gunman opened fire in a dormitory.

Last night he was said to be a 24-year-old Chinese man who arrived in the US a year ago on a student visa.

One of the dormitory victims was named locally as student Ryan Clark, who died with an unnamed woman.

More on him:

A student from suburban Augusta was one of the first two people killed Monday in the shooting rampage at Virginia Tech, authorities said.

Ryan Clark, 22, of Martinez in Columbia County, was a resident advisor at West Ambler Johnston dorm, where the first shooting was reported about 7:15 a.m

Clark apparently rushed over to see what was going on when he came upon the gunman, a student who lives on the fourth floor of the dormitory told the New York Times.

Clark, who had been at the school since 2002, had completed his coursework and was set to walk across the graduation stage in May with bachelor's degrees in biology and English, his twin brother said Monday night.

1. What a handsome young man, and so young
He had just begun on his path in life when it was all taken away from him. Heartbreaking.

2. He was the RA who tried to quiet the argument
between the gunman and his girlfriend. Ryan wasn't dating the girl, he was trying to keep the peace.

There is a chance the two shooting locations are not related. There could be separate gunmen. These could have been unrelated. There is a dead gunman for the second shooting and a "person of interest" for the first shooting.

"He expected to graduate in December 2006 and planned to pursue a doctorate in psychology with a focus in cognitive neuroscience."

What a waste. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Rest in Peace, Ryan. We're all sorry you're gone.

8. It's harder when they have faces.
But I feel I owe it to them to see who they were.

And then I think what tonight is like for their families.

9. I can't believe
authorities carried him out like that. It is tragic that he will be the image of this horrible event. I would never want to be remembered as the bloody and unwieldy corpse carried out of the shooting area. That poor young man.

As a fellow college student, I feel for him and I can't even being to imagine what is going on in the V-Tech community right now.

10. You evacuate wounded/dead quickly, not as a photo op.

11. Don't join the police or EMS
trust me, in shoot outs things like C-SPINE protections go out the window.

Keeping them breathing and the heart going is a higher priority.

Oh and photo op, my ass.. this is not a photo op

12. The pics are of two different boys
That's why I noted in the OP that the *second* pic was of the boy killed in the dorm.

The first and second photo are 2 different students...the second is the boy who was killed in the dorm. We don't know anything about the first boy/pic. He may well be a survivor.

I imagine the first responders were more worred about getting that first boy to safety and not how it would look in the newspaper.

18. Hmmmm...not in the UK link that I posted in the OP
This is what I see under the first pic:
"Tragedy ... police carry victim out of Norris Hall"

Second one says:
"Shot dead ... student Ryan Clark"

Plus the boy in the first pic doesn't look African American--or if he is, he is way lighter skinned than Ryan Clark. And Mr Clark was killed in the dorm, not Norris Hall classrooms (as the first pic caption says).

Those are the only reasons I am saying that the two boys are different and it is not Ryan Clark who the police are carrying out.

13. I don't think that guy is dead (first pic)
I don't think that guy is dead, or at least, I don't think he was dead when the pic was taken. Obviously the guy was badly injured, but I think the cops were just in a hurry trying to get him away from the building so he could be treated in a more secure area. I can't imagine them being in such a rush to carry out a dead body.

I hoping that guy being carried out in the pic made it/makes it. This is all so sad.
