1. Oddly, this is the kind of stuff the inspires the lunatic wing-nuts.

They'll dig in their heels and say "Oh yeah! We won't let them take down our boy!" and completely ignore what he's being taken down for. They'll happily vote for the very "qualities" they hated in Bill Clinton just to prove they're unified and won't be bullied. They're like fucking children that way. Rush knows his audience is stupid, and this tactic plays right to 'em.

Is a very polarizing candidate on the right. He is intensely disliked by many, many conservatives; should he be nominated there will be a strong third party candidate on the right. The 'civil libertarian' part of the right loathes his police state mentality, the 'God hates gays' part is intolerant of his tolerance and the second amendment folks think he;s a gun grabber.
