14. I believe GW's grandfather Prescott Bush had a home in CT.
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 08:19 PM by Raydawg1234
also, Both Bush's went to Yale.

Lots of wealthy people live in Fairfield county because of its proximity to New York City.

7. Well for one thing, I don't live in Connecticutt.
So I couldn't vote against him.

I could've donated money to Ned Lamont I suppose, but I didn't. I'm guilty on that count.

At least you tried.

23. Time to lobby the state legislature. Out west a number of states have recall, but I think few
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 08:38 PM by John Q. Citizen
to none have it in the East.

We in the West got it in response to the extractive industries (mining, logging) which at one time took over the entire state political mechanisms, media, and labor opportunities. It took a long time to drive the robber barons out of political power, but when it happened sweeping reform movements also instituted recall, initiative and referendum. It's part of that Western populism tradition.

voted for ned in the primaries, sent the millionaire $50 to run against joe, put a lamont sign on my lawn, two actually, but, yeah I don't know what my fellow nutmeggers were thinking?

I guess they feel joe brings home the bacon for ct military-industrial complex facilities like electric boat in new london and sikorsky in stratford and pratt and whitney in east hartford and middletown and north haven?

18. I think Lieberman was very deceptive also...
With his spiel about being an "independent", I think that was very popular with many voters. However, if he had not committed himself to voting with the Democrats, I doubt that many of the Democrats that voted for him would not have done so? He was very plain-spoken about that before the election. I do not think he was totally above-board with the voters. But that is what he does well. He's able to talk out of both sides of his mouth if it benefits himself...

16. Roughly one out of three Democrats voted for Joe Lieberman
If you want to bitch at Connecticut, just bitch at the Republicans and Democrats who voted for the bastard, but don't bitch at the entire state.

19. Hey, we tried......But the Lamont campaign sparked a lot of anti-war discussion
around the nation. I feel that even though Lamont lost, we had a large impact on the 08' elections.
